About the Mountain Empire Collaborative

The Mountain Empire Collaborative was formed in 1999 for the purpose of uniting the residents and communities in the vast expanse of the rural East County with the groups and agencies serving them.  

Efforts to address the needs and challenges of our youth, families, and seniors are most effective when a broad base of stakeholders is able to assess, analyze, and address the issues.  

Strategic planning which makes the best use of resources and meets the diverse needs of our wide-spread communities would be best accomplished in a collaborative forum. 

In addition, many grants available to communities require that a high level of cooperation and integration has been established as a prerequisite to funding.
